🧭 DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY

Day 1 — Bishkek: acclimatization, the glow of a winter city, and the taste of local cuisine

  • ✈️ Arrival in Bishkek (Manas Airport). Transfer to the center: the drive usually takes 35–50 minutes depending on traffic. Check into your hotel and do a “short warm-up”: Ala-Too Square, Oak Park, cozy coffee shops with a view of the white peaks on the horizon. In the evening—an early dinner (lagman, kurut tea, tandoor flatbread) and sleep: tomorrow is set to a calm city rhythm without fuss.

Day 2 — Bishkek: museums, bazaars, and a “warm” city rhythm

  • 🏛️ In the morning—G. Aitiev National Museum of Fine Arts (modern and traditional culture), then a walk along Erkindik Boulevard. After lunch—State History Museum on Ala-Too Square: a great introduction to the country’s history and symbols. By evening—light shopping at Osh Bazaar or Orto-Sai Bazaar: wool socks, felt souvenirs, warm buffs for the mountains.

Day 3 — Transfer to the slopes: Bishkek → Orlovka

  • 🚗 Transfer: Bishkek → Orlovka along the Bishkek—Issyk-Kul highway. Allow 1.5–2 hours: the road is fast and scenic; closer to Kemin, open views of the northern spurs of the Tien Shan appear.

  • 🏔️ Check in at the foot of the slopes, set up rental gear and boots, check your ski pass. If the day falls on Friday/Saturday in season—you can catch a short evening/night skiing session as a warm-up (confirm availability at reception).

Day 4 — Orlovka: the first “full” day on the mountain

  • 🎿 In the morning—2–3 warm-up runs on easy trails, adjust stance and edges. After a coffee break, move on to longer lines. The local views are clean and open, with long skyward vistas over the Chuy Valley: photos are literally “at your feet.” In the evening—a sauna/banya at the base: your muscles will thank you.

Day 5 — Orlovka: technique + comfortable endurance

  • ⛷️ A 3×3-hour plan: (1) morning work on turning technique and speed control; (2) a hearty lunch and hydration; (3) an afternoon block—skiing without overload, “wide arcs” and playing with the terrain. Orlovka is known for clear navigation and pleasant slope geometry—great for building confidence.

Day 6 — Orlovka: variety of runs + a high-contrast evening

  • 🏂 Try different sectors: hard morning snow for edging and softer after lunch for long, “flowy” lines. Closer to sunset—a leisurely walk: the winter air is dry and “ringing.” If the weather is clear, don’t rush home—the sky often delivers gentle pink sunsets over the Kemin Valley.

Day 7 — Recovery day: Issyk-Ata hot springs

  • 🚗 Head out for “heat therapy”: Orlovka → Issyk-Ata (via the Kant district). Plan about 1.5 hours on the road. On site—thermal pools among spruces, an easy walk to a waterfall through the gorge, and a stone image of the Buddha. Return by dinner: the perfect reset for your legs before a new series of runs.

Day 8 — Orlovka: a free ski day or an instructor

  • 🎿 Return to your favorite runs or take 1.5–2 hours with an instructor to work on details (edge-to-edge transition, upper-body stability, arc choice). The base has convenient infrastructure: rentals, a cafe, warm rest areas. In the evening—a local restaurant with simple but very hearty dishes.

Day 9 — Cultural outing: Burana Tower and Tokmok

  • 🏛️ A half-day excursion: Orlovka → Tokmok → the “Burana Tower” architectural and archaeological complex. An easy climb up the tower (if access is open), a museum with artifacts, and balbals in the open air. Time including the road—about 4–5 hours. In the evening—gentle relaxation and an early night.

Day 10 — Chon-Kemin: a snowy valley and ethno-romance

  • 🚗 Transfer: Orlovka → Chon-Kemin (village of Kalmak-Ashu/Shabdan). The road takes about 1–1.5 hours: a river valley, dark spruces, white fields. Accommodation in a national-style guesthouse: wooden interiors, a warm stove, homemade food.

  • ❄️ After lunch—a winter walking trail through the valley or a horseback ride (weather permitting). Chon-Kemin in winter is about silence, long horizon lines, and a dense conifer scent.

Day 11 — Chon-Kemin → Orlovka: morning forest, daytime slope

  • 🌲 In the morning — a short walk out to the trails / photos of snowy “caps” on the firs. By noon — return to Orlovka (≈1–1.5 hours). The second half of the day — easy skiing: “wake the legs up,” and shake off fatigue in the base sauna before the final day in the mountains.

Day 12 — Orlovka: the final “long” day of skiing

  • ⛷️ Plan your favorites: a loop of the best runs, a must-have photo spot on the valley panorama, and an unhurried late lunch by the slope. If there’s evening lighting / night skiing — a great way to put a bold full stop to the snowy story.

Day 13 — Return to Bishkek + nature block: Ala-Archa

  • 🚗 In the morning — transfer Orlovka → Bishkek (≈1.5–2 hours), then a short trip to Ala-Archa State Nature Park (another 45–60 minutes from the center). In winter it’s especially beautiful here: white riverbeds, frosty firs, dense mountain air. Choose an easy trail to the viewpoints. Return to the city by evening.

Day 14 — Bishkek: farewell morning and flight

  • ☕ Morning breakfast, buying honey, dried fruits, and felt souvenirs. Transfer to Manas Airport (usually 35–50 minutes; allow extra time for weather). See you again in the Tian Shan!
