🧭 DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY

Day 1 — Arrival in Karakol → Kyzyl-Suu (adaptation)

  • 🏁 Flight to Bishkek (Manas Airport) → transfer/minibus to Karakol (≈ 6–7 hours along the northern shore). Then a short drive to your accommodation base (Karakol as a convenient “power point” for the Jeti-Oguz and Ak-Suu springs).

  • 🌬️ In the evening — a 30–40 minute easy “promenade” along the Karakol River or through the quiet streets of the old town. Light dinner, plenty of still water, early sleep: tomorrow is your first soak in the thermal waters.

Day 2 — Ak-Suu Kench: hot springs + a “breathing” walk

  • ♨️ Morning at the Ak-Suu Kench recreation center (Teploklyuchenka/Ak-Suu): a cascade of pools with different temperatures against a backdrop of fir trees and mountains. Ideally — 2–3 sessions of 10–15 minutes with rest intervals and drinking water. The road from Karakol takes about 30 minutes; during the day minibus No. 350 runs here.

  • 🚶 After bathing — a “quiet health trail” along the river toward the entrance to the gorge: 40–60 minutes at a conversational pace, no climbs. In the evening — a warm shower, herbal tea, early sleep.

Day 3 — Jeti-Oguz: “Seven Bulls,” “Broken Heart,” and the Kok-Jayyk meadow

  • 🟥 The red conglomerate cliffs “Seven Bulls” and “Broken Heart” are the area’s calling card. From Karakol by minibus No. 371/355 or by taxi — 20–25 minutes to the resort. Start with the viewpoint at the foot of the cliffs, then a leisurely walk along the trail up the gorge.

  • 🌼 In good weather — a picnic in the Kok-Jayyk clearings (“Valley of Flowers”): subalpine meadows, conifer-scented air, gentle terrain. Total walking time for the day — 60–90 minutes with long breaks.

Day 4 — Culture and history of Karakol: two museums + a park

  • 🏺 Przhevalsky Memorial Museum on the shore of Issyk-Kul: expedition route maps, memorial park, calm weather and pines. Getting there from central Karakol — ≈ 15 minutes by taxi.

  • 🏛️ Karakol Local History Museum + a walk through Victory Park: gingerbread-quarter architecture, wooden facades, shady alleys. This is a “reset” day without exertion.

Day 5 — Barskoon waterfalls: mountain air and panoramas at an unhurried pace

  • 💧 “Leopard’s Tears” and nearby cascades in the Barskoon Valley are a south-shore classic. Drive from Karakol — ≈ 1.5–2 hours along the lakeside road. On site — short trails to viewpoints, photo stops, tea in roadside cafes.

  • ✅ Day logic: 1–2 short walks (20–30 minutes each) + long breaks. Return before sunset; evening — recovery.

Day 6 — Skazka Canyon: “wind sculptures” + an evening by the water

  • 🏜️ Skazka Canyon (between Tosor and Bokonbayevo) — shimmering shades of ochre and terracotta against the blue of Issyk-Kul. From Karakol — about 2 hours one way. A walk along the winding ridges and “castles” — 60 minutes, then down to the shore to relax.

Day 7 — Finale: repeat the springs or your favorite spot + packing

  • ♨️ Depending on how you feel — one more calm visit to “Ak-Suu Kench” or a short photo walk to the Jeti-Oguz cliffs. Farewell landscapes, a light lunch, unhurried packing.

  • 🧘 Wrap-up mode: warmth, water, early dinner. Transfer to Bishkek — plan for 6–7 hours on the road + a buffer for traffic.
