🧭 DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY

Day 1 — Flight/arrival → Cholpon-Ata (acclimatization)

  • 🏁 Transfer to the north shore of Issyk-Kul (Cholpon-Ata/Sary-Oy/Bulan-Sogottu). Check-in, a light evening walk along the promenade, and an early night. Altitude and sun are “felt,” so keep things gentle.

  • 💧 Drink water in small portions, avoid heavy food and alcohol: tomorrow we begin a course of thermal-water treatments.

Day 2 — Cholpon-Ata: Rukh Ordo → petroglyph museum (warm-up)

  • 🏛️ Morning — the “Rukh Ordo” Cultural Center: an open area by the water, pavilions of world religions, and a calm walk along the pier with views of the Tian Shan.

  • 🪨 Afternoon — the open-air “Petroglyphs” museum (stone garden): ancient drawings of ibexes, hunting scenes, and lake panoramas. Walking on mostly flat terrain for 45–60 minutes is a gentle aerobic load without overexertion.

Day 3 — Chong-Oruktu: first hot-springs session

  • ♨️ Trip to the Chong-Oruktu springs (≈ 50–60 km east of Cholpon-Ata): the “Keremet-Suu”/“Dolphin” complexes. Pool temperatures are usually graduated (around 43–48°C). Light scheme: 10–12 minutes in a warm pool → 10 minutes resting out of the water, then 1–2 more dips. Total time in water no more than 30–35 minutes.

  • 🫀 Self-monitoring: no shortness of breath/dizziness, steady pulse, warm wrapping after procedures. Thermal baths have a cumulative effect—don’t chase the “heat.”

Day 4 — Semyonov Gorge (forest, river, photo day)

  • 🌲 A nature day without thermal нагрузок: trip to Semyonov Gorge (northern slope of Kunghey Ala-Too). Easy trek along the valley for 1–2 hours at a “talking pace,” photo stops by the river and pine stands.

  • 🍵 Return to the shore: late lunch, warm clothes for the evening by the lake (the wind picks up).

Day 5 — Chong-Oruktu: second springs session + lakeside sunbathing

  • ♨️ Repeat balneo session (you can alternate complexes): 2–3 short dips of 8–12 minutes, with mandatory breaks. Local contrast plunge pools—only if you feel well.

  • 🌤️ After the baths — 30–40 minutes of calm rest in the shade/warmth, then a beach walk. Drink water, avoid overheating—UV is stronger at altitude.

Day 6 — Grigoryev Gorge + evening in Cholpon-Ata

  • 🏞️ Morning trip to Grigoryev (Chon-Ak-Suu) Gorge: meadows, streams, viewpoints; build the route as a “walk-picnic,” not a hike. Time on your feet: up to 90 minutes total.

  • 🎟️ In the evening — the city museum/souvenirs or a repeat visit to Rukh Ordo in the soft sunset light.

Day 7 — Finale: favorite corner of the shore + unhurried packing

  • 🧘 Devote the morning to a gentle walk where you enjoyed it most: the promenade, a quiet beach, or a short trip to the petroglyphs. If you want—a brief warm pool (5–8 minutes) instead of a “full” session.

  • 🚐 Packing: allow a buffer for the road (switchbacks, roadworks on some stretches). A farewell view of Issyk-Kul—and off you go.
